Storm Phobia

During storm season, it’s important to ensure that your pets are able to feel safe and remain secure during a thunderstorm event. 

Dogs in in particular can react out of fear when they hear thunder, sometimes injuring themselves or frantically trying to escape, but there are some things that you can do to help them feel safe and keep them settled. 

Some pets are assisted by wearing a thundershirt (designed to apply constant, gentle pressure much like swaddling an infant baby), and helps them feel safe and secure. 

If you are boarding you pet with us over the storm season, make it known to the Resort that you pet has a storm phobia so that they can discuss this with you. It is also highly recommended that you speak with your veterinarian to discuss what options are available to ensure their phobia is managed while they are away from home.
